Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped millions of men and women become more confident in front of an audience. International Scientific Presenters of MUSC encourages improving the presentation of your scientific research. At ISP you can
learn to effectively formulate and passionately express your scientific ideas. Youll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations, and youll improve your networking skills.

Constructive evaluation is at the heart of the ISP program. Not only will you have the opportunity to deliver speeches, but you will also critically evaluate the speeches of your colleagues. ISP provides an environment that teaches and fosters critical, constructive evaluation skills, enabling you to be an effective reviewer of research proposals. Learning to evaluate while you listen will also enrich those mid-afternoon seminars.
Dont worry! Everyone in ISP was once plagued by the nervous ramble of "ums" and "uhs" - and many of us still are! But at ISP, every opportunity to speak is a chance to eliminate those distracting interrupters. ISP will help you to present your scientific ideas and findings in a smooth, convincing manner.

Relax, learn to express yourself, and let the color return to your knuckles. Preparing and presenting scientific speeches at ISP will help you to be more comfortable when its your turn to present a seminar. Moreover, ISP will guide you to effectively use body language and voice variation. Don't let nervousness and a monotone mumble hide the excitement you have for your research, learn to portray your passion.


At ISP meetings, you will be surrounded by students, post-docs, and faculty. Certainly, it is an environment that encourages relationship. It is a great opportunity to be a mentor to those who are finding their way in the scientific community or to be mentored by those who are richly filled with years of experience.
